Understanding Centering

50/50 Perfect Centering PSA 10 Eligible

The image is perfectly centered with equal borders on all sides. This is the ideal centering for a PSA 10 grade. Left/right and top/bottom borders are exactly balanced.

Perfect 50/50 Equal

65/35 Slight Off-Center PSA 9 Range

The image is slightly shifted to one side. The left border is noticeably larger than the right. This is acceptable for PSA 9 but would prevent a PSA 10 grade.

Slight 65/35 65% 35%

75/25 Poor Centering PSA 7 or Below

Significantly off-center with a very large left border and minimal right border. This centering issue would typically result in PSA 7 or lower, even if other attributes are perfect.

Poor 75/25 75% 25%

Top/Bottom Off-Center WOTC Era Common

Common in vintage Wizards of the Coast Pokémon cards. The image is shifted vertically with unequal top and bottom borders. This affects the grade depending on severity.

Vertical Off-Center Large Small

PSA Centering Thresholds
